Daring Bakers: Something Light

This month's challenge is brought to us by Karen of Bake My Day and Zorra of 1x umruehren bitte aka Kochtopf. They have chosen Tuiles from The Chocolate Book by Angélique Schmeink and Nougatine and Chocolate Tuiles from Michel Roux.

My Tuiles are 100% organic and I filled them with homemade chocolate cream and lemon curd cream. The chocolate turned out better. The sweet lemon curd with the sweet cookie was just too over the top sweet for my taste. The shaping bit was fun but, truth be told, a little too much work for the amount of fun you get out of it. I think if I were to make them again I would do a savory version and make little coronets filled with a nicely Swedish Toast Skagen filling. Bon appétit!

Perfeccigarettes, and I lovthe lemon cream 'twist' on the filling, since chocolate seems to be the norm (for me at least..lol) Good job!

I agree that these are a lot of work, but after seeing how creative everyone has been, I still want to make them again. I love the cigars, I want to try that shape next time.

They look so elegant served in glasses! I have some batter left over and I think I will try some chocolate-filled cigars, like yours.

Your tuiles turned out really beautiful. I too found that a really sweet filling was too much with the sweet tuiles. But yours look really pretty, especially in those glasses. Great job on the challenge.
